No one does chili better than the Saline Firefighters,
right? After years of stirring up scorching batches of
bubbling chili, they know chili best. Then we paired
them with the Culinary Arts students in the South & West
Consortium's program at Saline High School and the chili got
even better!
Working in teams, the firemen and
students will cook up 10 inventive and fantastic varieties
of piping hot chili. Don't miss this chance
to sample unique chili recipes served up with a chunk
of homemade cornbread.
As a special treat, Fire Chief Craig Hoeft has graciously
shared his famous "Chief's Chili" recipe...download
it and get a preview of things to come!
How do you top all that? By making sure that all the
proceeds from the chili sales go to a scholarship fund!
In June, the Saline Downtown Merchants Association will present
a $500 scholarship to a graduating student pursuing an
education in a Culinary Arts related field.
